Jorick Timmer

Test Automation Engineer

Jorick Timmer has been a Test Automation Engineer at Quality at Speed since October 2025. He made the switch from clinical chemistry, where he spent six years as an analyst in a hospital laboratory. That background — investigating, validating, hunting for causes in datasets — turned out to map naturally onto testing.

At RB2 he joined international development teams on two replatforming projects in B2C and B2B e-commerce. He validates product backlog items manually, finds and reports bugs, and builds automated regression suites with Playwright and TypeScript. He has integrated test suites into CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and covered both frontend and backend, including API tests with Postman and integration tests with Jest.

What stands out is the way he thinks. Six years working under ISO accreditation means that procedures, traceability and reproducibility are not checkboxes but habits. In the lab he ran analyses on patient material, produced reports on CRP measurements and derived a formula for corrected calcium based on albumin concentrations — work that demands the same skills as good QA: forming hypotheses, structuring data, and looking critically at what the system tells you.

Alongside client work Jorick invests heavily in his craft. He earned Rapid Software Tester (RST) in 2025 and in 2026 both TMAP Quality for Cross-Functional Teams (QCFT) and Large Scale Scrum in Action (LeSS). In 2026 he also completed Anthropic's Claude 101 and Marthin WestPhal's Agentic Engineering trainings.

His motto: "What else would I do with my time?" It comes from his passion for sport — he is a runner, road cyclist and baseball player.
